Pam Bray Designs: A Girl With Flair

Sharing creative ideas through mixed media, stamps, embossing powder, charms, chipboard, stencils and designer collections

MY STUDIO….A HAPPY PLACE!
Hi to all my Scrapbook Flair Fans and to those that came today to visit me in my studio!
I hope you will follow along with me on my Creative Journey as I create at Scrapbook Flair/Pam Bray Designs Studio!
Thank you Graphic 45 for asking me to put together a photo shoot  of my happy place!
BUT…
IT TOOK A LOT OF YEARS TO GET HERE!!!
I began scrapbooking 19 years ago on my kitchen table with girlfriends and cleaning up my mess at the end of the day so we our large family of 7 could eat dinner. That continued for at least 5 years until we moved to Memphis where my husband bought me a fabulous scrapbook cabinet; a computer amour, lol but it worked! I used it until the kids started moving out of the house.
MY STUDIO IN ITS INFANCY!

One day I decided … I am going to turn a bedroom into a Happy Creative Space!
SO I DID... I went to yard sales, friends house asking for tables, antique malls and added pieces to my space to work on. The one thing I loved most…I didn’t have to clean the table off for us to have dinner, lol. Plus, it worked for what I needed at the time.
ARCHIVERS!!!
One day I was out shopping and seen the “Archivers” sign going up on to a store front.
SO GUESS WHAT I DID NEXT….
YEP…
I GOT A DREAM JOB AT …. you guessed it ARCHIVERS!!!
I was an Instructor there for almost 6 years and love every minute of it. Needless to say when it closed I was devastated.
I had just started blogging and was mourning the close of the store.
So I pulled myself together, contacted a few companies, tried out for a few design teams and the rest is history.
I have been blessed to a designer for many fabulous companies but I always wanted to be a Graphic 45 Designer! I was so thrilled two years ago when I made the Design Team. It is truly one of my favorite paper companies!!! Anyone that follows my blog knows how I love to fussy cut paper up; upcycle projects, taking a piece of paper and trying to make something spectacular out of it.
SO….GRAPHC 45 and I are a PERFECT MATCH!!!

So I hope you enjoy my studio tour along with some storage ideas!

ON MY DESK…
I love galvanized tins as you will quickly see…
I keep my paint and stencil brushes in a few.
Along with scissors, gemstones, xacto knives, adhesive runners and some of my favorite distress ink in small pails that I found.

CLOSE THE DOOR AND YOU WILL SEE THIS BEHIND THE DOOR!

My husband loves the challenge and when I showed him my Pinterest inspired paint stand…WELL he made me one! It holds most of my paints, paste and sprays from DecoArt Media!

I love to have inspirational projects on display anywhere I possible can.
BEHIND THE DOOR HANGER
Wreath hangers are fabulous for hanging your aprons on behind the door.
It keeps them available but yet out of the way until you need one.
IKEA EXPIDITE!

I have two of the Ikea Expedite in my studio…this is the larger one.
It has 25 cubes so it is a fabulous storage unit.

I keep all my Graphic 45 Collection in Paper Holders…in 4 of the cubes.
This makes it easy to grab a collection when I am creating!

I have all my Graphic 45 staples in small tins in this 3 tiered stand next to the paper.

Along with Graphic 45 Inks!

On top of my Expedite I have inspirational pieces I have created over the last year or so.

The 4 of the cubes contain We R Memory Albums of my grandkids …love those albums; they are 3 ring binders and so easy to work with and add page to!

PENS AND MARKER STORAGE…
well some pen storage, lol!
I love pens!

TAG AND DOILY ORGANIZER!
I use a lot of paper doilies along with small file folders, memo pads, notebooks, ATC bases, etc.
The organizer comes from Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts and fits perfect in the cube; so it makes the perfect organizer for these items.
IKEA 3 DRAWER STORAGE
I have 2 of these fabulous 3 Drawer Storage pieces for IKEA…they hold everything from Colorbox Blends, Twine, Washi Tape and Adhesive in!

CLOTH TUBS!
These tubs can be found in your local department or craft stores.
I use mine for unfinished wood and chipboard along with some of my larger tools.

GALVANIZED PAPER HOLDER
I found this galvanized paper holder and thought it was perfect for some of my specialty paper, acetate, Kunin Felt, etc.

I keep my Versafine, Memento, Embossing Ink in the small galvanized drawer for convenience.
The smaller basket is filled with Lynda Kanase Dies from Sizzix.

VINTAGE FINDINGS ALONG WITH XYRON!

SECOND WORK TABLE…
DIE CUTTING CENTER!
Like I said earlier my husband loves a challenge and one day after fussing about not being able to keep dies organized …. well he built me a die cutting center!
All I can say it is amazing!!!

On the right of the center I keep all my fabulous Eileen Hull Dies and on the left is Tim Holtz!
My vagabond is a work machine!

In the bottom part of the Die Cutting Center…it contains border punches along with general shape punches along with Eileen Thinlit Dies, Twist Tool, Wire, etc.

UNDER THE FARM TABLE PAPER STORAGE

In the closet are 2 Green ones and they are Christmas

RANGER STATION
I keep most of my Ranger sprays, refills, paints, etc in this fun Galvanized Chicken Coop!

MY MAGAZINE COVERS
I always encourage everyone to try to get their projects published.
It is a defining moment in your creative walk, it leaves a legacy for your family and friends that is physical, and it just makes you feel “HAPPY”!

HALLOWEEN INSPIRATION

BOOK CASES
I have 2 book cases one on each side of my main desk.
The one on the right I use as my stamping station…
It contains mixed media stamps, embossing tools, embossing powder, etc.
In the Yellow Storage boxes is all the magazines I have been published in over the last 5 years.
The metal box on my desk is card bases….

On the other Book Case is where I keep my Xyron, Cricuit, Cameo along with more ribbon jars.

Wow Pam, what a wonderful room. It seems so spacious and light. I absolutely love the vintage look with all the galvanised storage. And all your creations to gaze upon. How large is your room? It is lovely, but a real work room. How many tables – 3! When all is said and done, this is a fabulous workspace and if it's inspiring to me it must be wonderful for you. Thank you for sharing your space.

I mean come on who else would have a galvanised chicken coop as a paint station?? Well actually I can think of a certain chap in Arizona who might!! lol Thank you for sharing these pics of your creative work place and also a glimpse of your amazing creations. Now where do I find a galvanised chicken coop?? x

Thank you for sharing your creative space with us, Pam! Holy Toledo! You have so much space and so many goodies to play with! I have a tiny Closet, and somehow have manage to get quite a bit in there. :):) It's a constant shuffle, something new comes in, something has to go out. Your hubby is a real sweetheart to make those work stations for you. My favorite it the wall shelf with Deco Art products. Perhaps you can hire him out??? Sigh…I have no free walls, even is the answer is yes. It's no wonder you create such magical stuff; your room is INSPIRING! Hugs!
